Photo-based Sculpture
There are different reasons food is wasted, for this project
I wanted to photograph plates that had been eaten on and were about to scraped
clean and thrown away. Waste is a term that is loosely used, all of the food
still on these plates is edible, but it will eventually be dis-guarded. It is sad that in a society where people are
suffering from hunger, that good food it going to a landfill. The digital images were printed on matte
paper and adhered to the paper plates.
By filling the trash can with the paper plates, a true understanding of
how much excess food is heaped onto a plate at dinner time. Only take what is
needed not what is wanted. Others are
going to bed with nothing for dinner, while good food goes to rot.
